Is bariatric surgery right for you?
Bariatric surgery is the most effective tool for weight management and combined with dietary and lifestyle changes, it can open the door to a more active and healthy life. Dr. Ghaderi and his multidisciplinary team help patients through their weight loss journey.
Most studies show that patients can lose 60-70% of their excess weight after bariatric surgery. These patients can also benefit from improvement or resolution of obesity related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea. Bariatric surgery is associated with a longer life expectancy and a better quality of life. The patients who receive bariatric surgery also have a reduced risk of developing cancers and heart diseases.
Banner University Medical Center – Tucson, under the leadership of Dr. Ghaderi, has received full accreditation as a Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®), which is a joint Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).
